Addresses and data are transferred serially via the <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">two-line bidirectional I<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">2<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">C-bus. The built-in word address register is incremented<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">automatically after each written or read data byte. Address pin A0 is used for <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">programming the hardware address, allowing the connection of two devices to the bus<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">without additional hardware. <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">The built-in 32.768 kHz oscillator circuit and the first 8 bytes of the RAM are used for the<\/span> <span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">clock, calendar, and counter functions. The next 8 bytes can be programmed as alarm <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\">registers or used as free RAM space.
